Support for grief, loss, or a hard life change

For adults after a death, a divorce, a job loss, or a new health diagnosis who want guidance and a safety check rather than a medicine. This visit never issues a prescription.

Start a $59 online review for Grief and adjustment support.

A physician reads your answers, normalizes what you are feeling, shares coping resources, and screens for two things: whether the sadness has become a depressive episode that the Anxiety and depression option or an in-person clinician can treat, and whether you need crisis support right now.

This visit does not include a prescription. Your physician sends guidance and next steps through the portal.

Look for another care setting

What to have ready

  • What happened and how long ago

  • Whether you have people you can talk to, or already see a counselor or a support group

What happens next

Start the request on the website, answer a few questions to check that this visit fits you, and choose how fast you want an answer (the response window). If your concern still fits this service, a physician reviews it and sends you a secure update after you sign in. A basic work or school note can be included at physician discretion.

Will I get a medicine?

No. This visit never issues a prescription. If your answers suggest the sadness has become a depressive episode, the physician points you to the Anxiety and depression option or an in-person clinician who can treat it.

Is it normal to sense the person who died?

Yes. Sensing the presence of someone who died, or briefly hearing their voice in a comforting way, is common in grief.

What if I need help right now?

Any thought of ending your life, harming yourself or someone else, or going several days without eating, sleeping, or getting out of bed ends the online request and points you to emergency support. Call or text 988, or call 911.
